Walker vs. Barrett
Walker Morning Update – Barrett Under FireFriday, May 18 This has been a bad week for Mayor Tom Barrett.First, Greg Sargent with the Washington Post reports that the Democrat National Committee is refusing to invest significant money to help Tom Barrett and his party in this recall effort. Then, it’s announced that his talking point about Wisconsin job loss last year was a gross miscalculation and… the state actually saw the addition of 23,000 jobs in 2011.Thursday, Wisconsin continued to receive good news when it was released that the unemployment rate has fallen to a new three year low of 6.7%.Also discovered yesterday, was Tom Barrett’s give away of a no-bid contract to contributors to his campaign. This prompted the filing of a complaint by two other companies who should have been given the chance to bid for the contract. Now, today, Tom Barrett is being asked why he blew off two different ceremonies held on Tuesday and Wednesday to honor Milwaukee police officers. His response? “I’ll have to get back to you about the specifics.”That response seems to be standard operating procedure for Mayor Barrett. – Budget specifics anyone? The next two weeks of this election are likely to look a lot like this one did. The one piece of good news for Tom Barrett? He has a front row seat to the show starring him and his failed leadership.
